COLLEEN A. GIBSON-MOREHEAD
Central Virginia Alumni Chapter
Loyal Daughter, Colleen A. Gibson-Morehead, grew up in a military family, traveling to many states as well as internationally. She claims Hampton, Virginia as home and is a member of the Class of 1977 having majored in Accounting. Upon graduation, she joined a national accounting firm and relocated to Dallas, TX. Pursuing an interest in residential housing, Colleen joined Security Properties which led to many adventures culminating in a career of managing military housing for the Navy and Marine Corps for Lincoln Property Company, later known as Liberty Military Housing, retiring in 2021.
Colleen is a Life Member of SCSUNAA and has held membership in the DF/W, DC, and the former Northern VA alumni chapters. Currently a member of the Central Virginia Alumni Chapter, she is serving her 3rd term as President having also served 1 term as Vice President and 2 terms as Treasurer. She is dedicated to keeping her classmates united, hosting monthly Zoom meetings, planning homecoming gatherings, and leading the last 2 class reunions.
Her other interests include serving on the Advisory Board for The House DC, a faith-based organization with a mission to transform and empower the lives of inner-city youth as well as volunteering support for the Christian Embassy, reaching out to national and international leaders in DC with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Colleen is the proud mother of 4 close-knit daughters and grandmother of 2 delightful girls. It is an honor to represent our great Alma Mater as Alumnus of the Year.
