Dear DMV Bulldogs,
Today, Washington, DC Chapter is considered one of the most robust and prominent of the more than 40 South Carolina State University National Alumni Association chapters nationwide. Our membership roster includes hundreds of alums living in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia. After 88 years, we maintain our steadfast commitment to uplifting and moving our alma mater forward by recruiting future students and supporting matriculation through our dear SCSU.
Since 2012, the DC Chapter of SCSU National Alumni Association has sponsored the Lew Berry Memorial Golf Tournament to support our first-class fundraising efforts. The tournament has allowed hundreds of golfers to spend time doing what they love while raising money to support the institution they love. This year, to further increase our impact, we are hosting our highly anticipated gala during the same weekend as the golf tournament, which will allow for increased engagement. These events will headline our inaugural Bulldog Takeover Weekend 2023, which will serve as our primary fundraiser. The golf tournament will occur on August 11, 2023, at Old Hickory Golf Club, followed by a Drop-In also on August 11, 2023 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott, and the gala will occur on August 12, 2023, at Crystal Gateway Marriott. We will culminate the weekend with virtual Sunday Inspirations.
